The music on ‘The Garden’ was created with the Super 8 films (youtu.be/IdHePjYqu-A) by independent movie director Derek Jarman (1942-1994) in mind. These films show Jarman at his most visually courageous and creative, using prisms, filters and superimposition to produce rich colour and artistically bold compositions. The transient images, isolated like paintings, are the essence of Derek Jarman and his visual vocabulary.
